The score was reconstructed in 2013 by guitarist Seth Josel from a radio recording of Christian Wolff performing the piece and a rough sketch made by the composer, the only copy of the original score having been stolen in 1967. The publication contains both the reconstructed work and a version of the score copied directly from the Wolff recording along with two essays detailing the history of the piece and its gradual rediscovery.
