„Herbei, O Ihr Gläub’gen“ is a highly rhythmical arrangement. After a rubato introduction, the groove in 5/4 time immediately sets in and runs through the complete piece. The unusual measure lends a flowing effect to the melody. The first alto saxophone plays a funky solo, which can be interpreted either as notated or freely. This arrangement does not call so much for technical virtuosity but for a skilful rhythmical ensemble playing.
