3. The ballad of Red Fox

Here the poet writes of the sufferings of a hunted animal, and in the music I have tried to portray the cruelty of the hunt. The yellow of the sun and hot sky contrasts brutally with the red of the fox's brush, and of the blood which flows when he is killed by bullet and dagger. For children's choir (SSA) and piano.
