The hymn tunes have been arranged in two-part harmony, as simply as possible, to make them playable by the youngest music maker. The Left hand is entirely in the five-finger position. The chart at the side of each tune, indicates the notes and fingering to be used by the left hand. In order to keep to this plan the harmony has frequently been slightly altered.There are no key-signatures, all sharps and flats being placed in front of the notes requiring them.
