The original version of this work for piano was written in 1953. Neoclassical in convention it is optimistic and communicative in expression. Rapidly gaining in popularity, it lent itself for transcription for violin and piano. Originally included in the collection Playing Crickets, its unabating popularity justifies its separate publication in the children's series.
