"It is very difficult to see the logic behind this setting. Seven eight time is apt for 'The Perfect Fool' ballet but is completely inappropriate here. What is needed is 'tempus perfectum' like the original melody, giving a measured and regular rocking of the cradle.

The lu la sound is thought to be one made by mothers to lull a child to sleep. Instead Archer ends with a great fortissimo.

Very strange.
